Everton are one of England’s oldest and most decorated clubs, founding members of the Football League in 1888. They were the dominant force in English football in the 1980s, winning two First Division titles and a European trophy. They are the only club to have played in every single season of the Premier League since its foundation in 1992. Recent years have brought financial difficulties — two points deductions for PSR rule breaches — and years of disappointment. However the move to their new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock in 2025 has reinvigorated the club and the city.
Never been relegated from the top flight in the Premier League era — the only club with this distinction
Goodison Park — their old ground was one of the most famous in English football
The 1980s glory days — two league titles, an FA Cup and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup
Their fierce rivalry with Liverpool — Merseyside is genuinely split between the two clubs
Long-suffering supporters — some of the most loyal in football despite years of underperformance
Their new Bramley Moore Dock stadium — opened 2025, one of the best new grounds in England
England’s first-choice goalkeeper and Everton‘s most important player. Eccentric, commanding and brilliant. Has been one of the best goalkeepers in the league for several seasons.
Senegalese forward who has been one of Everton‘s brightest attacking talents — quick, direct and capable of moments of real quality.
First Division/Premier League: 9 (last: 1987). FA Cup: 5. League Cup: 0. European: 1 (Cup Winners Cup 1985).
Liverpool (Merseyside Derby — one of football’s fiercest and most local derbies).
Final position: Around 13th-16th
Everton continued their trend of Premier League survival without comfort. The opening of their new Bramley Moore Dock stadium has given the club and fanbase a huge lift.
